ABUJA -The Senate President, Senator Godswill Akpabio, has lauded President Bola Tinubu for enacting the legislation to create the Federal College of Education, Bende, Abia State, Federal University of Medical and Health Sciences, Item Bende, Abia State, and the Federal University, Okigwe, Imo State.

Akpabio also praised the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Kalu, who sponsored two of the measures, alongside other influential figures in the Senate, such as the Deputy Whip, Senator Onyekachi Nwebonyi, the Deputy Minority Whip, Senator Osita Ngwu, and prominent bill sponsor, Senator Patrick Ndubueze, for their outstanding leadership, effective advocacy, and dedication to the welfare of their constituents.

In a statement released on Wednesday by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Hon. Eseme Eyiboh, the Senate President commended both the House of Representatives and Senate stakeholders for their unwavering support of the Renewed Hope Agenda championed by the Tinubu administration.

These three educational institutions aim to deliver high-quality education, research opportunities, and address the educational demands of the South-East region, as well as enhance healthcare delivery to promote knowledge and improve health outcomes in the area.

Senator Akpabio remarked that the formation of these institutions would signify a monumental achievement in fostering education and development in the South-East region.

Senator Akpabio stated, “I commend President Tinubu for his inclusive governance and proven dedication to the progress of the South-East and for efforts to mend the historical grievances.

“The establishment of these institutions will significantly alleviate the persistent feelings of skepticism and socio-economic sidelining among the South-East populace. I commend the President for his open-heartedness and genuine concern for the region.

“The remarkable backing of leaders and legislators in driving the passage of these crucial bills for establishing these institutions is commendable and deserving of recognition.

“I urge the esteemed Ndigbo community to continue aligning with the Renewed Hope Agenda of the current administration and prepare for strategic and positive partnerships with President Bola Tinubu,”

Akpabio assured that ongoing support from the South-East for the Tinubu administration would yield greater democratic benefits for the region.
